Chat On Mars translates messages so people who don't share a language can talk. Here's what that means for your information.
AI translation
When you send a message, its text is sent to a third-party AI service to translate it into the languages people in the room read. Please don't share sensitive information.
What we keep
Your messages, the language you chose, and your display name. Guests don't need an account. If you sign in, we also keep your email and the rooms you own.
How long we keep it
Temporary rooms end after 24 hours of inactivity, or 7 days at most, and their messages are deleted 7 days after that. In a venue's room, a conversation is deleted 48 hours after it's reset or a visit ends, and 7 days after the host closes the room. Deleting a room removes its messages immediately.
What the host can see
The person who created the room can read the conversation and reset it for the next person.
Website analytics
On our public pages we use a cookieless analytics service to count visits and measure how pages perform. It doesn't set cookies or identify you, and it never runs inside a room or chat.
