Terms of Service
The basics of using Chat On Mars, in plain language.
Accepting these terms
By using Chat On Mars you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. Guests can use rooms without an account.
The service
Chat On Mars is a chat service that uses AI to translate messages so people who don't share a language can talk. We provide it as-is and may add, change, or remove features over time.
Acceptable use
Use Chat On Mars lawfully and respectfully. Don't use it to harass others, share illegal or harmful content, infringe anyone's rights, or disrupt the service. We may remove content or end access that breaks these rules.
AI translation & accuracy
Translations are produced by AI and may be imperfect or wrong. Don't rely on them for medical, legal, financial, or other critical decisions. To translate a message, its text is sent to a third-party AI service — see our Privacy notice.
Accounts
An account is optional and only needed to keep the rooms you own across devices. Keep your password secure; you're responsible for activity under your account. You can stop using it at any time.
Rooms & content
You're responsible for the messages you send. The person who creates a room can read its conversation and reset it. Temporary rooms expire on their own; venue rooms can be reset at any time.
Disclaimers & liability
The service is provided “as is,” without warranties. To the extent the law allows, Chat On Mars is not liable for damages arising from your use of the service, including any reliance on translations.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. We'll post changes here, and continuing to use Chat On Mars after an update means you accept it.
